BILL ROBERTS RED BUTCHER

Notes:
I have been breeding chickens since the 1940s, and my Butchers since 1979.
All 3 of my Butcher families (Red, Spangled, White) come yellow-leg or white-leg. Over the years, I have often referred to my yellow-leg Red Butchers as "Banana Leg" Red Butchers.
Regarding feathering, naturally there can be some variation in the colors and patterns. In my Red Butchers, such variation is more common among hens. There are 2 general appearances of my Red Butcher hens (as you can see in the 2 bottom photos).
As for my Red Butcher cocks, their coloring is very uniform, with some having a lighter coloring in their neck hackle feathers, while others are a little darker.
